Houston center Will Noble, Texas linebacker Malik Jefferson and offensive tackle Connor Williams and Texas A&M receiver Christian Kirk made the USA Today Sports Freshman All-America team.
Noble shed his redshirt in Houston’s sixth game of the year and became a fixture along the offensive line. The Coogs’ offense was 12th in the country with 40.6 points per game.
The highly-touted Jefferson led Texas in pressures with six and was second in total tackles with 61. He added seven tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks. He also forced a fumble and a recovered a fumble, which he returned for a touchdowns.
Williams started all 12 games for the Longhorns this season. Texas was 20th in the country in rushing this season with 224.8 yards per game.
Texas A&M’s Kirk earned the All-American selection as a returner. He had 18 kick returns for 348 yards this season. He also had two punt returns for a touchdown.
